Deja Boo!

There's a new kid in town and her name is Alice Catherine.  She was born at 2:19 a.m. on October 31, which makes her our little Halloween baby.  She weighed in at 7 pounds and 13 ounces, just like her big sister Olivia, but she's about 3/4 of an inch shorter.

Here she is right after birth and a bath.

And here she is about 12 hours old.

Grammy got to hold her and rock her for a long time.  I'd forgotten just how sweet a newborn is.

And here is big sister Olivia getting her first look at her new baby sister.  The only thing that lured her away from the hospital was trick or treating.

And here she is right before heading out to gather her loot.  I stayed at the house and handed out candy.  We had quite a crowd.  I'd forgotten how much fun Halloween is.  I don't get trick or treaters at my apartment.  :-(

And just for the sake of comparison, here's a photo of Olivia as a newborn.  I think there's a resemblance.  One thing's for sure:  my son and daughter-in-law sure do make beautiful babies.

Catching Up

It's been way too long since I posted here so this post will cover quite a bit of time.

My mother visited in September and we went to Birmingham so she could see her great-granddaughter. It had been over two years since she'd seen Olivia in person. I got a great photo of all of us by the railroad tracks after we had lunch at the Whistle Stop Cafe in Irondale.

Around that same time, Olivia and her mom met up at the zoo with Aunt Farah and her cousins Waylon and Wyatt. Lynn-z and Peedee came along for the trip. I'm "borrowing" these photos from Aunt Farah's blog because they are so cute.

Here's Olivia holding Waylon's hand at the zoo so he wouldn't run anymore. He'd already fallen and scraped his knees.

Then Miss Olivia was a ladybug for Halloween.

Uncle Adam came to visit for Thanksgiving and the whole gang convened at Lynn-z and Peedee's house (Kristin's mother and stepfather) for a wonderful meal. At one point we had ten adults and five children all age five and under (the kids, not the adults). We had loads of great food and lots of fun and laughter.

I know this is the Grammy blog, but this is a proud mother picture of my two boys. I'm so proud of the men they have become.

And a great big thanks to Lynn-z for sharing these photos she took at her house. Aren't bubble baths fun?

Happy Halloween

A pumpkin!

But she ran off and left Mommy to do all the work.

And what an awesome jack-o-lantern she made too.

Not sure about this pose but it's darned cute.

What an adorable kitty cat.

Kitty cat says, "OH MY GOSH! Look at all this candy!"
Mommy says, "OH MY GOSH! Imagine the sugar high!"

Three-for-One Update!

I was advised by my mother today that I've been derelict in my Grammy duties and have not posted photos in two months. So here are pictures sent by my daughter-in-law that cover several events -- the Alabama State Fair, a trip to the McWane Science Center and Halloween.

Corn dog! Yum-oh!

"So your right side is the most photogenic? It's my left side. Wanna compare?"

Wheeeeee!

Fishes! Oh no!

"One ringy dingy. How may I direct your call?"

Grammy thinks this light peg wall at the McWane Center is the neatest thing she's seen.

Shade of Tom Hanks in "Big."

Say Beez!
